Gramatec, a fast-growing company with future

History

On 14 April 1999 our two general managers took the chance to set up their own business and founded Gramatec Grafische Maschinen Technologie GmbH (a closed corporation).

  • The founder of the company, Michael Taffershofer, a graduate engineer (mechanical engineering), contributed 10 years experience in the sectors designing, engineering and project work. He was employed in leading position in a medium-sized stock cooperation.
  • Nikolaus Ritter, also founder of the company, a qualified electrician (master’s diploma) had a professional experience of nearly 20 years. He draws on his vast experience and finds solutions that impress by their simplicity and reliability.
  • It was the objective of the foundation to offer the branch experience of many years in the graphical industry as service for machine manufacturers as well as end users.
  • Soon we were able to realize very successful project developments for our customers. The machines designed by Gramatec were visitors’ favorites at the world’s largest fair of the print industry, the DRUPA 2000 in Düsseldorf.
  • Also on DUPA2004 our customers showed new machines designed and developed by Gramatec.
  • Recently our main activities concentrated more and more in general automation solutions and services like advanced PLC programming, electrical cabinets, electrical scheme designing and so forth.
  • In 2002 we simplified the companies name to Gramatec GmbH.
  • Besides further more significant innovations fort the printing industry our own machine building division was established. The high quality and performance we achieved encouraged us to go on expanding this division.
  • March 2006 we moved into Blumenstrasse to satisfy our raised space requirements.
  • 2007 followed the most successful development and market introduction of the SA400 Hopper Loader comprising innovative bus coupling, simple operation and high level of automation.
  • On DRUPA 2008 we showed besides the Hopper Loader SA400 the new designed Clamp CL400. Our further developed belt take-up reel system GW400 was taken very positively from the customer. End of the year the first split trimmer MS400 has gone successfully in operation. Our number of employees grows again as the expanded product range requires.
  • The financial crisis in 2009 hardly hits us, because the cost benefits of our products are requested just in the crisis.
  • In 2009 we develops around the CL400 an entire family of clamps CL100/200/400 and CL600, which covers all customers’ requirements. Maximum automation enables great savings to the customers.
  • 2010 is the year of the manufacturing. With HSMWorks an extraordinary CAM-system is integrated. The job order production capacity grows to the double.
  • In the middle of 2011 Gramatec moved to larger premises in Eurasburg. The registered office went also to Eurasburg. Thus allows significantly grown order sizes being accommodated und customers and suppliers can reach Gramatec on one central site.
  • Our standing co-partner AGRAMA/Materialfluss GmbH retired after 12½ years. Since October 31st. 2011 Mr. Ritter and Mr. Taffertshofer are the sole managing partners of our company. With this step the redirection to the generally industry has been completed.
  • 2013 to 2015 we master the largest order in company history. Round 25 machines for the in-plant transport for a leading manufacturer of cookies are designed, produced and successfully brought into service. Yet another proof of our performance!
  • 2014 we bought the so far rented company building together with the surrounding area to achieve planning dependability for coming developments and orders. The step by step restoration of the building makes our sustained commitment to the Eurasburg site clear.
  • 2015/2016 we acquire the next mill centre. After an intensely evaluation of the vendors Alzmetall, Hermle und DMGMORI the decision falls in favour of DMGMORI. The DMU95 monoBlock offers large workspace, high precision and highest performance in for five-axis simultaneous machining.
